Name, Age, Location
My name is Eric (Roose). I am in 36 and life in California.

Computer, Input Devices, Communication

Nothing terribly special. I have a Dell with an upper end video card and 4gig of ram. Still running Vista for the moment but will be getting Windows 7 once a few updates have come out and it has settled down a bit.

I use a ergo keyboard, 4 button trackball and a Nostromo. I have a Vent server and do not have an issue communicating over Vent.

Schedule

I am usually free M-F after 7:15pm server time. Durring the week I am open. Weekends vary, it will depend on what is going on raid wise and of course personal plans but if the raid is announced early enough, I can make it. I am open to anytime I am logged and not in a run for an interview. Thurs @ 8:00pm server is good for a specific time.

Experience, Value

I was in a casual raiding guild tha imploded. We were doing Uld 25 and making some progress, unfortunately the guild ran into a roadblock about the time ToC got started. I have made some runs through ToC (Both 10 and 25) in PUG groups. Of course some runs were better than others. Run in a lot of PUG runs at that level has taught me a lot about over coming areas of opportunity in patchwork raids. You don;t always have the best healers or tanks and this has force me to be a little more aware of what is going on with Aggro and my health meter. If need be, change my spell rotation to stay alive. A DPS is no DPS. I don;t have a problem thinking about what will make both my play better and also what can make the group move forward towards end game content. I have given up my spot in progression raids to more experienced and better geared players on runs where we are moving to new content. I see this as just taking one for the team. The easier it is for the guild to get through a new area just makes it easier for everyone the next time.

History
My first guild imploded and there were some hurt feelings all around (we are all still friends bot in game and out of game). A lot of the main raiders scattered to a few different guilds and a small group broke off and created a raiding guild. At that point I just went freelance and decided to do a little PvP and pickup some runs when I felt like raiding. Was a little burnt out on politics of trying to turn a casual raiding guild into a raiding guild.

I started really wanting to raid again and was offered a spot in my current guild. With the new 5 mans, they are gearing up fairly fast but I think they are a long ways off from running 25 man content and not sure when they will be really ready to run ICC.These are some things that I am really wanting to run and I like progressing. When I joined I was under the impression that they were a bit farther along but said I would give the guild a try and see how things go. Love the people, but they are still a ways from hitting ICC and this is what I am looking to run.

I am generally pretty easy going and I am here to have fun. Killing things is fun and so is beating the game. I am a bit of a smart ass and can take as much as I give. Strong believer that we shouldn't take each other too seriously and try we should try to help the other people get better and have fun.

Warlock/Affliction/DPS/Enchant/Tailor

I started on the horde side and when I was thinking about what to play, the guild I was in said I should be a faceroller and play a lock. It was of course a joke but, hey, I found it amusing and created one for laughs. After leveling him I found I enjoyed the dynamics and decided to stick with him. As for why I selected Affliction. It was just recommened when I first started playing and I liked the benefit of the Dots. In a couple runs, the party was dead but the Dots kept ticking and it killed the boss. That seems pretty cool to me and the general dynamics of this appeals to me. I am also working on a Shammy Healer. Only in the 30's but finding that semi enjoyable.

The professions just seemed the most logical.Tailoring since I can only wear cloth and enchant because every time you get something new, you need it enchanted. Why pay someone else for something that you can do yourself.

Equipment, Itemization, Sockets, Enchants.

Mostly wearing T-9 gear for the bonuses and the increase in stats over the T-8 (even though I like the T-8 bonus a little better). I am looking to get upgraded to T-10 as soon as I can. I have not upgraded my chest as the T-9 is really not much better that the T-8 and I already have the set bonus for the T-9. For the most part I am putting in SP gems in all slots. Still have a couple +19 gems but I am looking at my kit right now to evaluate what makes sense to upgrade to the +23 and what item will get updated shortly and doesn't need the added expense of the upgrade. Of course there are a few scattered slots that have something other than Red so I can use the Meta in the head piece. I do take in consideration the Spirit on items, as using the Glyph of Life Tap adds 20% of Spirit to SP.

I am still playing with the new Decay glyph and the new hot fix seems to have fixed the problem with Corruption running out before the Haunt cool down is over. I feel that I just about have the rotation down for the spells.

I have kept some older items in the bank in case I decide to swap something out that may give me more SP or if I need more hit. You never know when a patch will hit and you need to revamp your kit a little.

Playstyle

The key addons that I use would be: Bartender4, BigWigs, Omen, buttonTimers, X-Pearl, Shadowtrance, Grid and Metahud.

I think that Omen and Bigwigs speak for themselves. I played around with a few UI interfaces and felt that Bartender fit the best. It allowed me to map the keys I wanted and works with the Nastromo without any issue. I can move the boxes on the screen and size them for ease of use.

Buttontimers keeps track of the cooldowns of my Dots. After the last really big update, I was surprised how much harder it was to keep track of the Dots when it wasn't working. It is by far worth a few hundred DPS.

X-Pearl falls in line with Bartender. It allows me to setup the character info in an easier setup for me to read and get the information I need about the party and mob.

Shadowtrance is a simple addon that has an audible when I can cast an instant Shadow Bolt.

Grid allows me to select a party member with a simple click on their icon instead of trying to go to the raid tab or clicking through people standing around.

Metahud put up health bars and numbers in the main viewing section of the screen. This again allows me to better track both my info and my target. I put a percentage meter for my targets life between button timer and my buttons. The buttons are matched with my Nostromo so when my target hits 25% I can Drain Soul.

I have most actions built into the Nostrono. To move I will either use the Nostromo or the trackball. My hands very rarely have to come off those to items during a raid.

I am a strong believer in the raid leader is the raid leader and you do what they ask of you. It is nice to be top on the DPS meter but if I have to sit on the side and CC, then so be it. I will try and watch as much as I can of the fights and will watch more closely if I am dead. Both to figure out how to make the job easier and to try and fix any mistakes I have made.

Output, Performance

I do not have a parse as of yet but I will see if I can get into a decent run tomorrow and get that uploaded. The last couple time I have ran VOA, I was between 4-4.5k DPS.

I will look at the raid and decide if CothEl is needed:

(CotEl) (if you’re in a group where 3 or more casters will benefit from the +13% spell damage and the group does not have a boomkin to provide “Earth and Moon” or an Unholy Deathknights to provide “Ebon Plagebringer”)

My rotation does not change much in fights.
Boss Fight:

Lifetap before the pull to get the glyph activated. (will refresh as needed to keep glyph up)
Haunt (cast time also allows a bit more time for tank to gain aggro)
Corruption
Unstable affliction
CoA
Shadow bolt to fill till any of the above need to be refreshed
Once target is at or below 25%, I will sub in Drain Soul instead of Shadow Bolt.

Trash mobs will vary as most of the time the Dots are not really going when the mobs die.
If the tank can handle multiple mobs I will use Seed of Corruption for 3+mobs.

If the tank is having issues with multi mobs I will single target and adjust my rotation down to a couple DoTs and fill with Shadow Bolts.

That is MetaHud Nuckin Branch. I was never a big hud fan but I do like the simplicity of this one and it was easy to mod and move stuff around.

Here is a screenshot of the VOA 25 run. I kept trying to get WoW Meter to work but it just kept giving me a stupid error. I will keep working on it.

Does a lack of questions = lack of interest?

I am just seeing a lot of questions and comments on other applications, and trying to figure out if it is lack of interest or just bad timing.

Thanks
